- For the symptomatic relief of allergies and hay fever: Allergeze contains herbs that have been traditionally used to relieve the symptoms of allergies, hay fever and nasal congestion.1,4,5 Albizia lebbeck may relieve symptoms of allergies and hay fever by stabilising mast cells, and quercetin may assist in inhibiting leukotriene synthesis and histamine release.1,6,7 Perilla frutescens has shown in vitro and in vivo to inhibit the release of histamine from mast cells and inhibit IgE and TNF-α.8
- Support healthy immune function: Perilla frutescens and quercetin are used to support healthy immune function via their action on Th2 response.3,9 Perilla frutescens is thought to down regulate Th2 type cytokine production, and quercetin induces Th1 cytokines while inhibiting Th2 cytokines.2,9 Atractylodes lancea is traditionally used to support immune function in Chinese medicine.10
